The Great Trout Catch Out Special Sep 2025

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a limited period to fish on a catch/keep/pay basis for trout. Adults and kids are welcome to fish using bait, lures or fly.  We kindly ask that guests assist us with keeping and paying for a few trout (discounted price), but we will take the trout if they would prefer to not take them. The bass and kurper are also starting to get active and they can be targeted on a strictly catch and release basis. This offer is available at Sun Ox Fishing Adventures (near Bronkhorstspruit) and SundownerLanseria (Cradle of humankind).

The number of fishing guests is restricted to ensure a bespoke and uncrowded experience. Therefore advance booking via our online system is recommended . The cost of the day fishing access and kept trout, has been reduced.

This special is valid from 18th - 24th September. We are open at both venues on Heritage Day public holiday!

Please note that the special is available at Oxbow (26 & 27 Sep) and Lanseria (24/26/27 Sep).

Notes: The fishing dams are only 2,5m so we can't sustain healthy trout in the hot summer months when the water temperatures warm up. This activity ensures that as many trout as possible are removed so they don't suffer and provides seed investment to stock the quality fish that our guests enjoy fly fishing for so much in winter months.
