Agenda for 2.5 hour activity
Session 1
Brief overview of the history of fly-fishing
Explanation of the equipment
Explanations of eco-friendly fly-fishing practice ie catch and release
Casting lesson and practice
Basic entomology explanation (nb so you can understand how to select the correct flies to fish with)

Session 2
Group divides into teams for two exciting challenges
1) Accuracy casting challenge where each team member has three casts to try and land his fly in a
hoop target. Challenge for individuals but score points for your team.
2) Blind folded casting challenge (relay format):
a) A team member must concentrate on the casting skill that they have learnt to try and cast the fly
into the target zone while blind folded. Taking away the sight sense forces you to rely on your other
senses (ie hearing, touch etc).
b) Use communication skills to assist the member who is blind folded to land the fly in the target
zone.

Session 3
If the venue has a fishing dam then guests will tie on the flies and try to catch a fish. Guides will
assist and help to correct mistakes and provide practical fly-fishing advice. Guests using a venue
without a fishing dam will begin the Trout cook off and wine pairing (if selected)..

Additional activities that be added (additional cost) include:

• Master chef trout cook off (with or without wine pairing) - Provides an entertaining culinary experience. The host will present and demonstrate a variety of methods on how to prepare and cook a rainbow trout. Teams then have an opportunity to prepare and cook their own fish. Teams will be rewarded or handicapped depending on results from the fly-fishing team build challenges. The teams will be scored for the cook off based on taste and creativity
• Interactive fly tying (with option of whiskey tasting experience) – Tying a fishing fly is an art and provides an opportunity to express creativity. This is a great ice breaker and can be included in the day events or included after dinner with an overnight package. Our experienced fly fishing guides will first demonstrate how to tie a fishing fly. Teams will then need to negotiate with other teams for the required materials and participants then compete to tie a fly. The scoring will be scored based on functionality, creativity and quality. .For the whiskey experience the whiskey ambassador compares whiskies to particular flies, and guests enjoy and opportunity to purvey the whiskies. Duration 1,5 hours.
• .Mobile wellness treatment - A neck & shoulder or foot massage to soothe the stress away in an idealic setting under shady trees, next to a crystal dam.
• Archery & laser clay pigeon to complete a Sundowner "McNab challenge"
• Modern conference venues with all the required equipment.

We have two of our own specialized sport and fly fishing venues conveniently located in Western & Eastern Gauteng. Sunox Fishing (Oxbow Country Estate-Bronkhorstpruit) and Sundowner@Lanseria Country Estate (Cradle of humankind). To provide flexibility we have also partnered with a selection of quality venues (including 26 Degrees South Hotel, Valley Lodge & Spa, Little Switzerland etc) throughout South Africa where we are a preferred service provider.
