We are offering an exciting opportunity for a limited period to fish on a catch/keep/pay basis for trout. Adults and kids are welcome to fish using bait, lures or fly.  We kindly ask that guests assist us with keeping and paying for a few trout (discounted price), but we will take the trout if they would prefer to not take them. The bass and kurper are also active and they can be targeted on a strictly catch and release basis.

The number of fishing guests is restricted to ensure a bespoke and uncrowded experience. Therefore advance booking via our online system or WhatsApp 0834140391 is recommended . The cost of the day fishing access and kept trout, has been reduced.

This special is valid from 24th-28 September (Venue dependent). We are open at both venues on Heritage Day public holiday!

Notes: The fishing dams are only 2,5m so we can't sustain healthy trout in the hot summer months when the water temperatures warm up. This activity ensures that as many trout as possible are removed so they don't suffer and provides seed investment to stock the quality fish that our guests enjoy fly fishing for so much in winter months.

Keep and pay for trout at a discounted price (although you are not required to keep the trout)

We are offering a reduced rate of R150 per kg for trout that are caught during our "Trout Out" special. Although you are not required to pay for the trout and we will keep the trout that you do not want.

Safe fishing venues in the country for families

Sun Ox Fishing Adventures and Lanseria Country Estate have unspoilt natural settings and are safe. You can enjoy the outing and know that your children can run around safely.

Bait, lure or fly fishing allowed

We are allowing all types of fishing for the duration of the Trout Out special. You can use bait, lures or fly. You are still most welcome to book and join us for a fly fishing lesson.

Food and drinks available onsite

Both our venues offer delicious food and drinks. Please note that guests are not permitted to bring their own food and drinks onto the premises.

All trout caught on for these dates must be kept. We kindly ask guests to assist us by keeping/paying for some of the trout but not essential as we will keep the trout (at no cost) that you do not want to keep. 

No food or drinks may be brought onto the premises.
